Looking good on the inside is as important as looking great on the outside. These local fitness enthusiasts share their athleisure go-tos.
CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT
Nike. It’s a reliable, great- quality, high-performance activewear brand. It always has a large variety of styles that fit well—everything
from shoes, sports bras, jackets and sweats. Nike has been a leader in high- performance and quality apparel for decades.
BLACK AND WHITE AND...
Coral seems to be the most common these days for me! The pop of color adds the perfect flair I need with the neutrals.
IT MUST BE
Sweat wicking, flattering, comfortable, current, customizable, cotton, Lycra and reflective. theakt.com
CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT
Outdoor Voices and Lululemon.
TO WEAR OUT TO
SoulCycle, and when in the city, I work out at Mark Fisher Fitness.
COLOR CODED
Black on black is my go-to combo. However, I like to mix it up with the latest and greatest colors once in a while. STYLE STRATEGY Style! Fashion! And then comfort and breathability. In my business, it is always about first impressions, so why not look good while working out? You never know who you are going to bump into! compass.com
CURRENTLY LOVING
Soul by SoulCycle line. We design everything in-house with feedback from instructors and ambassadors, so the pieces are tailored perfectly for what I need. I’ve also been a big fan of the brand K-DEER. It’s supercomfy, with colorful stripes named after inspiring women, and it supports a cause close to [the brand’s] heart. I love an opportunity to do good while looking good!
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR
Pieces that feel supportive and comfortable while I’m working out, as well as running around town. When I’m walking around the Hamptons or NYC I love athleisure that gives off an energy—both in design and fit.
STANDOUT
When I’m teaching, I really don’t hold back with color or design. I love a good matched set in neon or some cool netting and sexy cutouts. Exercise often involves experimenting, trying new moves, pushing one’s limits, taking risks; I love to do that with fashion too! soul-cycle.com
FAVORITE ATHLEISURE BRAND
Because I spend most of my time in swimwear, that is my athleisure! I look for well-made, long-lasting, timeless designs, and Shan Swimwear is the best. The shop in East Hampton is a great stop-in for me when I have to get ready for a photo shoot or need the owner’s keen eye to select a style that works for me. For land-based activities, Helen Jon is my go-to brand. It’s so easy to wear; it has a line inspired by Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James, and everything from that line is perfect for going from workout to sit-down lunch.
GO TO COLOR PALETTE
I love solids. They are timeless, and I can get many seasons out of a great solid suit, cover-up or leggings.
WHAT ATTRACTS YOUR EYE?
Functionality and form! I need sportswear that is great looking, stays in place and that I can work in. That sometimes means paddling for hours and then loading boards into a truck. I love forgiving fabrics that don’t squeeze me in the wrong parts and accentuate the good ones. paddlediva.com
