Taryn Toomey's cult fitness class breaks new ground in East Hampton.

“There’s a buzz, but at the same time you can find the tranquil quietness if you seek it,” says Taryn Toomey of the Hamptons. “[It’s the] best of both worlds.” The founder of The Class by Taryn Toomey devised her sought-after exercise program in the same spirit: dynamic and electrifying yet peaceful and reflective. In a stunning all-white crystal-clad studio in Tribeca, Toomey teaches The Class (and four variations thereof), a 65- to 75-minute workout that incorporates calisthenics (body-weight exercises), plyometrics (jump training), and various methods to engage the mind. Intended as a cathartic experience, The Class aims to change the way people think about fitness and the mindbody connection, not only in New York City, but also LA, Vancouver, and this summer, the Hamptons.
Thanks to a special collaboration with Lululemon, you can now take The Class at the retailer’s Loft35 studio space in East Hampton on June 17 and 18, June 24 and 25, and July 1 through August 31. “The local gals at the Lululemon Soho store have been around since the beginning of The Class. They had an unwavering belief in me from the onset,” Toomey says. “I believe in staying true to the people that supported you early on. This partnership made perfect sense.” 35 Main St., East Hampton, 324-4192
