WHAT FIRST MOTIVATED YOU TO START YOUR REAL ESTATE CAREER? Having built a pretty significant sales career in the luxury space already and developing some great relationships with high-net worth individuals, I wanted to take these relationships to the next level. Real estate brokerage presented itself as the best opportunity. I love working with people, helping them achieve their goals and keeping everything seamless while doing so. On top of that, I also identified the real estate sector as an industry that had room for me to fit in, grow and excel.
HOW DID YOU FIRST GET STARTED IN THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY? I had already known quite a few brokers; in fact, I had done business with a lot of them, so I reached out to a few of them to get some guidance on where to start. One of my friends was strongly encouraging me to join Douglas Elliman. I challenged him to get me a meeting with Howard Lorber, our CEO, and I said that if he did, I would join. He got me that meeting and I couldn’t believe it. I met Howard on a Friday morning in front of the Golden Pear. A five-minute meeting turned into an hour and a half. The rest is history. It’s also part one of my favorite things about this company; show me another CEO that would take time to meet an unknown new agent.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST REWARDING ASPECTS OF YOUR JOB? Helping achieve my customers’ and clients’ goals is the most rewarding part of my job. Now, I’m starting to be able to do that for a second or third time as well. Typically, during the real estate process, my clients and I spend a lot of time together, so a lot of amazing new relationships are formed. Those two aspects are definitely the most rewarding.
DO YOU HAVE ANY INCREDIBLE, BRAND-NEW-TO-THE-MARKET LISTINGS THAT YOU CAN TELL US ABOUT? I have two on-the-market listings, which include an incredible waterfront land offering on Sag Harbor Cove, 59 and 61 Ferry Road, and an amazing modern home perched above the dunes in Amagansett. The second property, 74 Cranberry Hole Road, is a 10,000-square-foot home on 5 acres of land with panoramic ocean views. Each of the two properties is very unique and there is truly nothing like them on the market right now.
WHAT MAKES THESE LISTINGS STAND OUT FROM OTHERS ON THE MARKET? Both of the listings are unique. There is nothing as substantial in size, both with regard to the house, the property and the views, that is quite like the listing at 74 Cranberry Hole Road. The property at 59 and 61 Ferry Road includes some of the largest building lots on the market in the Sag Harbor area on the water. This listing includes two single and separate lots that an owner can combine to make a true waterfront compound or that they can develop separately.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE THE HAMPTONS AS YOUR HOME? I’ve been here my whole life. Our whole life is here, our full-time residence, our kids, their schools and more. We have an affinity for Palm Beach and have been spending a bit of time there as well. But, to me, the Hamptons is home and there is no other place I’d rather be.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO IN THE HAMPTONS? We are big beach people, so we spend a lot of time at our beach club. I have been playing a lot of tennis and pickleball lately and I have been trying to play more golf. We love to eat out and frequent many of our favorite local restaurants. At most times, when I am in between appointments, or maybe even during them, you can find me at Sant Ambroeus in Southampton.
