Literature Live! Presents Moby Dick
Literature Live! returns with an online twist featuring the American classic Moby-Dick. Expect 90 minutes of dramatized reading from Broadway favorites including Dan Domingues, Wonza Johnson, Nehal Joshi, and Trent Saunders. East End native Harris Yulin runs the adaptation, available now until Feb. 28th. Don't miss this golden opportunity to see the 1851 Herman Meville classic in 2021.
Sip and Sing
Karaoke bars may be closed, but Bay Street Theater has a digital solution that's actually really fun. A collaborationg between AARP Long Island and Bay Street Theater, Sip and Sing lets you jam out on Broadway showtunes, American favorites, Holiday classics and more every Friday. If you've spent tons of time at Bat Street over the decades, you'll recognize some of the most talented singers scheduled to make a special appearance.
Eight-Week Master Class With Tony Award-winner Ben Vereen
Ben Vereen knows the true power of “authenticity," which he defines as "to be," as opposed to "becoming the character." The hit actor and entertainer takes the stage as a teacher where he'll mentour students like you, getting you ready to shine on stage and in front of the camera. His one-on-one help with the song or monologue of your choice is a rare opportunity to learn from a master. Get to know your colleagues, because they will be your greatest audience and biggest fans. Don’t worry, because whatever happens in the room stays in the room. Class starts Jan. 25th and runs through March 15th.
All Star Comedy Show Hosted by Joseph Vecsey
Get ready to roll on the floor laughing. All Star Comedy returns Jan. 28th with hilarious stand-up comedians Chris Clarke, Brendan Sagalow and Aiko Tanaka. Of course, we can't forget the star and founder of the show, Joseph Vecsey. In 2010, he had a vision, and this vision has given people belly laughs and tears for more than 10 years. Mark your calendars, because this exclusive Bay Street showing is here for one night and one night only!
Scenes And Monologues From Shakespeare! With Allen O'Reilly
To stream or not to stream? That is the question. This online workshop, taught by Director of Education and Community Outreach and Shakespeare veteran Allen O’Reilly, gives students a chance to channel their inner Bard. Participants will perfect one scene and one monologue from Shakespeare’s greatest works. With Allen’s help, students will learn the art of public speaking, vocal production and more about the Shakespearan era. Adults and children aged 13 and older are welcome, while the eight-week workshop runs Jan. 27th to March 17th.
