From building sand castles and surfing the waves to going on sunset walks and tanning in the sun, beaches offer so many fun activities under the sun to take advantage of this spring and summer and beyond. Here's a list of some of the best beaches out east to enjoy this summer.

Open year-round, this beach is located in Amagansett at the end of Atlantic Avenue. This beach is lifeguard-protected and offers restrooms, parking and a concession stand to grab some snacks while you’re having your beach day. 191 Atlantic Ave., Amagansett
Ranked as one of the top ten beaches in the country, this Southampton beach is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. With a concession stand, umbrella and chair rentals, bathrooms and showers, this well-known beach is the perfect spot for a beach day or evening walk. 268 Meadow Ln., Southampton
Known for its surfing, this Montauk beach is a great spot to ride the waves or just admire the coastline. There’s a concession stand, restrooms, bodyboarding and even hiking on nearby trails to take in all of what the surrounding nature has to offer. 18 Ditch Plains Rd., Montauk
This beach features a large pavilion overlooking the water to eat in or sit in as you watch the waves. The lifeguard-protected beach is perfect for a long beach day with friends or family or sunset walks down the coast. 101 Ocean Ave., East Hampton
This Sag Harbor beach on Noyack Bay is the perfect family destination. The one-mile-long beach, also known as Long Beach, has benches to sit on as well as grassy areas to have picnics by the water. Located at the end of Sagg Main Street in Sagaponack, this lifeguard-protected beach offers unparalleled views of the coastline. During the summer months, you’ll find a drumming circle on the sand where you may see the occasional fire dancer or two. 1200 Sagg Main St., Sagaponack
This long sandy beach in East Hampton is perfect for beach days, sunset walks, and even wildlife spotting with the occasional dolphin or whale spotted in the distant water. Grab a towel and a beach chair, and you’re set to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the Hamptons. 50 Two Mile Hollow Rd., East Hampton
Boasting a newly redeveloped pavilion completed in 2019, Ponquogue Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Hamptons. Complete with outdoor showers, restrooms including changing areas and skylights, this is not your average beach pavilion. Expect this Hamptons favorite to be crowded during the summer months. 280 Dune Rd, Hampton Bays
Located in East Hampton, this sandy stretch is one of the most pristine of all out east. Expect to find lots of sunbathing, swimming and even fishing on this less crowded beach, where the natural stone jetty makes for a decent fishing spot. Be sure to bring snacks, as there are no concessions sold on-site. 219 Lily Pond Lane, East Hampton
With showers, a playground, food concessions, and picnic spots available, Meschutt Beach is a great option for families. Enjoy the calm waters while watching the windsurfing and sailing, but be sure to watch your step, as Meschutt Beach tends to be rockier than some other Hamptons hot spots. 1 Canal Road, Hampton Bays
