Did you even go to the Hamptons if you didn’t Instagram bright yellow sunflowers and rows of blueberries?
We don’t know when fresh fruits and vegetables became trendy, but we’re honestly here for it.
With farmers markets being all the craze right now, we’ve rounded up these must-visit produce stands in the Hamptons.
For all those fresh berry salads you make before stuffing your face with french fries at 1 am.
Round Swamp Farm
184 County Road, East Hampton/Website
Round Swamp Farm is the mecca of Hamptons farm stands. If you don’t call it by its abbreviated name, “Round Swamp,” you’re literally not relevant. Just kidding, but you probably don’t come here for the ridiculously overpriced chicken salad after a back-to-back class at Tracy Anderson. The freshly prepared foods are perfect for a soirée with your fellow stay-at-home moms. If you eat carbs *GASP* you should indulge in the chicken fingers. They taste like crack. If you're trying to maintain that bikini bod *EYE ROLL* try Lisa's vegan muffins.
Pike Farms
82 Sagg Main Street, Sagaponack/Website
You’ve never had a tomato until you’ve tried the heirloom tomatoes from Pike Farms—they’re acidic, yet sweet, and oh so delicious. And if you’re a corn-on-the-cob lover, they have an abundance of freshly picked, corn husks. This Sagaponack farm stand is impossible to miss, because the bright yellow corn draws you in from a mile away. Talk about old-school advertising.
North Sea Farms
1060 Noyack Rd, Southampton
This Southampton produce stand puts the farm in farm to table. There is something incredibly authentic and rustic about North Sea, which is ironic considering it’s in Southampton. Rustic typically isn’t the word used to describe the lavish crowd who summers here. Come here for the delicious chicken breast, organic eggs, assorted raw vegetables, and beautiful cut flowers.
Green Thumb Organic Farm
829 Montauk Highway, Water Mill
Now’s the perfect time to take your mom’s advice of not judging a book by its cover. The name may be a little off-putting, but the produce at Green Thumb is A+. Although we come to this local Watermill spot for the organic fruits and veggies, we stay for the charcuterie. If getting meat and cheese at a farmstand is wrong, we don’t want to be right.
Serene Green
3980 Noyack Rd, Sag Harbor/Website
Now that’s a name we can get behind. If Batsheva Haart buys her produce from Serene Green, I’m buying my produce from Serene Green. The fruits and veggies are great, but the real winner is the creamy burrata that melts on your tongue. If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, we love the warm homemade fruit pies and fresh-out-of-the-oven bread.
Balsam Farm Stand
Multiple Locations/Website
You’re doing something wrong if you don’t get the Balsam Farms Bloody Mary mix made from fresh tomatoes. Fresh produce and alcohol, what could possibly be better? If you’re on that no-alcohol-cleanse, aka you’re a blonde mom named Karen, we suggest getting the organic pickles, pesto, and strawberry jam. With locations in Amagansett and Montauk, Balsam Farms is the perfect spot for anybody who summers in the Hamptons.
Seven Ponds Orchard
65 7 Ponds Rd, Water Mill
Warning: you might gain seven pounds if you make eye contact with the freshly-baked goods section. The best part about Seven Ponds is the apple picking! Not only are the apples crisp and delicious, but the experience itself is a fun family bonding activity. You absolutely cannot miss out on the apple cider donuts and the seven-dollar tractor ride. It’s cheesy, we know, but honestly such a cute first-date idea!
