For more views of the water, make a trip to Cedar Point County Park. It looks over Gardiner's Bay and offers 607 acres of historic land to explore. Visitors can go fishing, hiking, camping, hunting for waterfowl—even scuba dive, and all this at what was once a busy shipping port. 5 Cedar Point Road, East Hampton, 631.852.7620

For a bit of different scenery than many other parks in the Hamptons, Sagg Swamp Preserve is the place to go. Through the trails, across 105 acres, are interesting finds like the freshwater stream, the swamps or a weir for regulating water flow. Following the boardwalks through the park, visitors can sense the history of the area, and appreciate the amazing nature there now. Sagoponack Rd, 212.997.1880

One of the most beloved nature locations in the Hamptons is the Long Pond Greenbelt. A certified nature preserve, it is home to rare plants and animals, the 153-acre Sagaponack Pond, 1,900 acres total of land and a dozen other large ponds, or the "string of pearls." Stop by the nature center to learn about the land and volunteer opportunities. 1061 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike
