Blue & Cream’s newest in-house collection, The Tile Club, may feature elevated sweats that are decidedly cool and contemporary, but the inspiration behind it is rooted in New York City’s artistic past. The name is drawn from an exclusive club of NYC painters, sculptors, illustrators and architects—including Winslow Homer, Stanford White and William Merritt Chase—who gathered between 1877 and 1887 in private downtown salons to paint on ceramic tiles. The group of creatives also made excursions out East to paint en plein air in the impressionist style, giving birth to some of America’s greatest works. In that same spirit, the new collection is designed to take modern men and women from city streets to coastal havens with ease, boasting haute hues (expect new color drops every season), on-trend fits and sumptuous fabrics that feel as good as they look. With several styles of matching sets that can be worn together or as separates, The Tile Club truly takes comfort to chic new levels—freeing up its sophisticated wearers to focus on their next masterpiece. 60 The Cir, East Hampton
