Courtney and Matthew Breitenbach with their three daughters
Matthew and Courtney Breitenbach of the Breitenbach advisory team talk all things real estate and family life in the Hamptons.
Their family began with Matthew and Courtney and their Bernese mountain dog, Beau. And then the Breitenbach family grew to include their three little girls.
“We have a full house!” Matthew Breitenbach exclaims. The day begins for him before sunrise. “The very early morning is the only time our house is ever silent, so I spend that time having coffee, getting my workout in and will spend lots of time working on goal setting, strategic planning and creative marketing for my business.”
As the founder of the dynamic Breitenbach Advisory team, the real estate agent is a top pick for athletes and celebrities looking to purchase property in the Hamptons. Having sold over $1.5 billion in real estate, Matthew has made waves in the industry throughout his 12 years of experience. When asked what his favorite part of the job is, he replies, “Building lifelong relationships.”
His greatest motivation, however, is his family, who is always at his side. “We share everything and are very open and honest with each other,” he elucidates. “Courtney taught me that vulnerability is a good thing, that we must always have open communication and be in things together.”
The two are branching out from just sales and moving into finding properties to give new life to. Matthew is in charge of networking with the right investors and marketing. Courtney jumps in to design and manage the projects from start to finish, all while managing their daughters’ schedules and managing the household. “The days are long and demanding, but very fulfilling,” she shares. “For me, the sign of a great relationship match is whether or not the other person brings out the best qualities you have, if that person stretches you and grows you and if you are a better ‘you’ because of that person. Matt is 100% that in my life; I think he would agree with me that we have pushed each other to grow outside our own comfort levels and that we bring out the best in each other. To have a high-intensity business life as well as a large growing family happening all at once requires a lot of teamwork and a lot of grace for each other.”
The grind certainly doesn’t stop for the husband-and-wife duo. “Bringing Courtney into my business to formally evaluate new homes coming to market enables us to accentuate the positive features of the property and creates a strategy for us to work with the homeowner to update, enhance and make the little and big changes that refresh and enhance the appeal of the property,” Matthew says. “We make a good team and complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Someone once told Courtney and me that we ‘take big bites,’ which is true.”
Currently, the two are working on two development projects in Water Mill. “The first project is a renovation and expansion on a 1-acre property in Water Mill. We are bringing that to market in the next few weeks at $4,995,000. The second project is a 10-plus-acre three-lot subdivision in Water Mill. We are starting development on this in early 2023 and will be hitting the market sometime in 2023.” On the projects, Courtney says, “Working on a project with my husband who has so much knowledge and passion for real estate has been so exciting.”
While the Breitenbachs continue to make an impact in the real estate industry, they have one ultimate goal. “We have a very family-first attitude,” they share. “We really want to build a family that changes the world for the better.”
