“First and foremost, I want to be outside all the time—even if I’m working, I’ll take a conference call in the garden under the linden trees. Being outside in the garden or on the water is wonderful for both my body and my mind. I like activities I can do with my family. I go paddleboarding in the bay, ride horses with Delphina and garden a lot—weeding is a workout! I love yoga, but I prefer to do it in my yard, where I can hear the birds chirping and leaves moving in the wind. Yoga and meditation are always good for unwinding. Even if I only have 10 minutes to meditate, or sit in the sun for five minutes with my eyes closed, that’s a nice reset. If it’s raining, I will go to a studio. “I am obsessed with our lip tint hydrating balms, and we just launched two new shades for this summer. Lips get so dry in the summer from the sun, the ocean, the pool, even the air conditioning—which is why I wanted to create an easy lip product that had lightweight, sheer color and real moisturizing properties. “If not in East Hampton… it would be Cap Ferret. My family has vacationed there for generations. It’s a beachside enclave in the southwest of France; it is like the Hamptons of Bordeaux. It is very special to me. I grew up spending all of my summers there with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and a bevy of cousins. The houses are on the sand, overlooking the bay. You are always in a bathing suit and pareo, never in shoes, and the roads are even made of sand. It’s very simple—it’s all about the water from sunrise to sunset, which to me is a true vacation.”
