Authors Night, a lavish fundraiser to benefit the East Hampton Library, is an occasion for writers—and their avid readers—to come together to celebrate the East End’s ongoing literary tradition. Dubbed the “Premier Literary Event of the Hamptons,” it showcases 100 authors from a spectrum of genres. A constellation of mini literary salons ensues all over East Hampton, carrying on the great Hamptons ritual of pairing literature with wine, food and conversation.

If you want to mingle with the literati this summer, here is a roundup of some of the great minds who will be at the East Hampton Library’s 14th Annual Authors Night.

Amagansett resident Alec Baldwin is the founding honorary chair of Authors Night. “Authors Night is one of my favorite events out here each summer,” he says. “[It’s] one of our community’s greatest assets.” Baldwin will be on hand to sign copies of his new book, You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump (A So-Called Parody). Fans will devour this “political satire as deeper truth” with compelling and mind-blowing discoveries on every page. Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, will also be signing copies of her book, The Living Clearly Method: 5 Principles for a Fit Body, Healthy Mind & Joyful Life, in which she encourages readers to pair purposeful movement with conscious breath in order to live with more jubilance and grace.

Who better to share wine and hors d’oeuvres with than Florence Fabricant, the treasured food and wine writer for The New York Times? The legendary writer will be signing copies of her latest cookbook, City Harvest: 100 Recipes from Great New York Restaurants. The book features recipes from NYC’s most cherished chefs, including Tom Colicchio, Daniel Humm, Dominique Ansel and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Sales of the book benefit City Harvest, the food-rescue organization that feeds over 1.2 million hungry New Yorkers each year.

Michael Isikoff, co-author of the No. 1 New York Times best-seller Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump, will be in attendance. Russian Roulette is the chilling account of how American democracy was hacked by Moscow as part of a covert operation to manipulate the U.S. election and help Trump win the presidency. The author and his much talked-about book are sure to provide dinner dialogue that is impassioned and heated!

The author draws from more than 100 interviews with Williams’ friends, family and colleagues. Having dinner with Itzkoff and hearing him talk about his research for Robin will surely be an unforgettable experience and provide a rare glimpse into the world of celebrity, depression and addiction.
