Nothing bratty about it. On Aug. 25 John McEnroe is back out East serving his take on doing good with the fourth annual Johnny Mac Tennis Project’s ( Pro-Am.

Launched as a partnership with schools in East Harlem and the South Bronx to offer free tennis classes as part of a physical education curriculum, this project aims to remove economic and social barriers for those looking to experience not only the sport but also the social and academic access it affords. “Young tennis players face tremendous economic barriers to success, as did Arthur Ashe, the Williams sisters and so many others,” explains McEnroe. “We offer an accessible, funded pathway for student-athletes, tournament players and potential world champions.”

The event to be held in East Hampton will include exciting tennis matches, a legends exhibition, rounds of doubles play, food and drinks and a silent auction to raise funds for the project.
