With the New York party scene back in full swing, Fourth of July is the event of the season. It’s a seen and be seen type of situation- on steroids. So the most important question is: what are you wearing? To take a little pressure off of everybody, we curated a day to night style guide for all of your patriotic party needs.
Day
Whether you’re hanging by the pool with friends taking red, white, & blue jello shots, or dancing on tables at Montauk’s hottest beach clubs, you need the perfect day outfit. Below are the hottest swimsuits and cover ups of the summer that are guaranteed to put you in a festive mood (and the tequila doesn’t hurt, either).

Juni One Piece in Electra, With Jean
Marketed as “creating a flattering shape on all body types,” With Jean’s Juni one piece in electra is the universal suit of the season. The suit’s vibrant blue color will send shockwaves across the room. You’ll definitely be in theme, but without looking like you’re really trying, you know? Throw on your favorite faded denim shorts and you can wear this to grab drinks with the girls.
Crystal Logo Bikini Top and Bottom, Alexander Wang
Screw baywatch season. It is “baewatch” szn. Mix and match Wang’s red and white bikini tops and bottoms to create that effortless, but still in theme look. This bathing suit literally looks like you’re dripping in diamonds. After all, you do look like a million bucks. Pair this look with an oversized navy tote, and you’re repping Independence Day, baby.
Tatum Satin Bikini in Grenadine, Frankie’s Bikinis
You will for sure bring the heat on July Fourth in this red-hot bikini. The shimmery satin texture will do wonders for your sun-kissed skin (thanks St. Tropez for the extra glow!). Sexy, but not too revealing, this swimsuit is perfect for impressing the pool boy with the shaggy blonde hair.
Positano Stripe Romper, Frankie’s Bikinis
Want something to accentuate your summer bod, but don’t want to show too much skin? Frankie’s blue and white striped romper is the one for you. Inspired by the coast of Italy, this outfit is chic, but super easy. Add a pair of oversized hoop earrings, and you’re ready for your boat party!
Lou Bikini Top/High Waist Shorts/Button Up Top in Bluebell, Frankie’s Bikinis
Ok, there is clearly a Frankie’s trend going on here. But their new line is literally irresistible. Wear the Lou bikini top alone, or pair it with the matching shorts and button up to make a complete outfit. Either way, you’ll be celebrating the fourth in style.
Night
Hopefully you can rally for a night out on the town. Water and advil ladies, water and advil. Want to look spirited, but not like the american flag exploded all over you? Don’t worry, we’ve got your back. Below are the trendiest red, white, & blue outfits for that effortlessly cool look.
Roxy Dress in Red Dragon, Realisation Par
She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s smoking red hot. This fiery red silk dress will instantly make heads turn. Grab your go-to denim jacket and wear this to the littiest fam BBQ of the year, or spice it up with your favorite cropped leather and hit the club. This slip also goes perfectly with your 2 am slice of Joe’s.
Lena Dress in Electra, With Jean
Who. Is. She. With Jean's velvet mini dress is showstopping. The halter neck-line shows off your shoulders that you have been working for all summer long (three days, to be exact). Current, but retro at the same time, this dress will be sure to make a splash. Metaphorically, of course. Don’t have too many vodka sodas and accidentally fall into the pool.
Kitsi Silk Skirt in White, A R E Y O U A M I
Who says white can’t be festive? The Kitsi silk skirt is everything we wanted & more. Your bronzed legs will look long and lean in the world’s most slimming mini skirt. Pair this skirt with one of many silk tops that this niche LA brand has to offer. Grab your gal pals, and let’s dance!
Cut Out Blazer in Matisse Blue, Danielle Bernstein Collection
It’s never too hot out for a blazer. Especially one with sultry cut outs to flex your toned tummy (Credit: Melissa Wood). If you’re feeling yourself, wear this as a dress with white strappy sandals to that invite-only party you won’t shut up about. If you want to be a bit more conservative, add a pair of fitted white pants or white slightly-frayed boyfriend jeans. If you’re somewhere in between, keep the pants and sport the blazer half-way open with a red or white bralette.
Mini Tommy Bag in Red Bandana, Staud
This bag isn’t its own outfit, but it deserves to be. The red Mini Tommy Bag is the arm candy of the season and almost too good to be true for July Fourth. Ditch your mom’s old bandana (that you’ll try to wear as a shirt and inevitably fail) and rock this beaded bandana-print bag instead. Since the purse is such a statement piece, pair it with a simple pair of jeans and a white tee and you’re all set for bar hopping.
