During the season, Shoreline Aviation provides regular seaplane service between New York City (from the 23rd Street Seaplane Base in Manhattan) and The Hamptons and Shelter Island. Off-season, the frequency goes down but still remains operational. Charter flights are available to the resort destinations of the Northeast including Newport, RI, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Chesapeake Bay, the Adirondacks, and the lakes and harbors of New England.

Route 27 East (Sunrise Highway or Montauk Highway) is the only way in and out of the Hamptons. For extra clout, rent a Bentley or a Ferrari from Gotham Dream Cars. You can also hire a private driver via East End Limousine.

Maybe less glamorous but by far the most popular and most enduring bus line, this fleet's vehicles are very comfortable with luggage racks, air-conditioning, tray tables and television. The Ambassador Service (slightly more expensive than the main bus service) is equipped with plush extra-wide seats and electric power outlets for your laptop. The Jitney also provides free WiFI service.
