The luxury fashion house moves out east.
Gucci Hamptons woven tote.
Fashion fanatics can breathe a sigh of relief with the news that Gucci is finally staking claim to the East End and setting up a permanent location. After a couple of successful collaborations with Melet Mercantile and Moby’s Market, the luxury house is ready to debut its own signature space with a 2,000-square-foot, two-floor boutique showcasing the idiosyncratic look that has made the brand synonymous with a deeply personal fashion expression. Men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, beauty, childrenswear, small leather goods, luggage, Gucci Decor and Gucci Beauty will all be available, solving the dilemma of what to wear for any last-minute summer plans or impromptu parties. For those looking to flaunt their Hamptons x Gucci patronage proudly, there will be an exclusive collection available only at the East Hampton store. These pieces feature an organic Jacquard fabric, created by weaving together red and beige natural fibers in a tricot technique, which is paired with white square G embroidered accents. They are then finished with a blue leather trim and a round leather emblem with “The Hamptons” embossed in gold, and come in a wide range of styles that includes everything from bags to small leather goods. Personally, I’ve got my eye on the oversize tote that will surely hold everything needed for a day at the beach—as well as a quick-change lewk for the inevitable cocktail hour. 17 Newtown Lane, East Hampton
