Grab a bowl of buttery popcorn, silence your cell phone and take a seat–the Hamptons International Film Festival is just around the corner, celebrating 30 years of cinema for 10 whole days. Here's a sneak preview of what to expect on the big screen.

Who Invited Charlie?
Everyone has their own unique tale to tell about their time during the thick of the pandemic. One of many New York City families who made the Hamptons their quarantine hideaway is approached with a conflict—also known as Charlie. As the ultimate blast from the past, not-so-sober Charlie bursts the family’s quarantine bubble with his reckless behavior. Reid Scott, Jordana Brewster, Adam Pally and Dylan Penn join forces in this comical film—shooting most of the story on the East End.

Desperate Souls, Dark City & the Legend of Midnight Cowboy

The film is set in a period of uncertainty in New York, where economic collapse, social injustice and cultural turmoil are ever so present. The unpredictable dynamic between two homeless men has garnered the film an Academy Award for Best Picture—the first X-rated movie to win the honor.
Decision to Leave
Director Park Chan-Wook will keep viewers on the edge of their seats during Decision to Leave. This gripping film investigates the mysterious death of a man in the mountains, leaving his wife incredibly questionable for the events that transpired. Crime, drama, mystery, romance and thrill are undeniably present in this movie with a jaw-dropping ending.

Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game
What’s so special about a game of pinball? Ask Roger Sharpe, enthusiast and master of the arcade pastime, whose life is dramatically changed when the game is suddenly made illegal. Maintaining the legacy of the game with the help of the Music and Amusement Association, Sharpe finds himself shooting his shot at not only love but also at saving the game. Stakes are high—game on at the world premiere of this film.
