The 31st annual Hamptons International Film Festival returns to the East End from October 5 through October 12. One of our favorite events of the year, the festival is hosted by 501(c)3 nonprofit organization HamptonsFilm and celebrates the art of film while benefitting the local community. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s festival and an exclusive first look at this year's poster.
All passes and packages are on sale this Tuesday, September 5. Ticket selection for packages will take place on Tuesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 21. Individual tickets are on sale to members beginning Saturday, September 23 and to the general public Monday, September 25. See more information on ticketing here.
The Schedule
The full film guide will be released on September 14. So far, the opening night film has been announced as “NYAD,” and the centerpiece film has been announced as “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon.” “May December” will also be screened, for which Todd Haynes will be awarded the festival’s Achievement in Directing award. Five world premieres will also be taking place during the festival. The festival will be putting on an exhibit in partnership with the East Hampton Historical Society at The Clinton Academy on Main Street in East Hampton from Thursday, October 5 through Sunday, October 15. The exhibit will consist of Susan Meiselas' series “Prince Street Girls,” which includes photographs of the festivals’ first five years and is the origin of this year’s poster image. See more information on the festival’s schedule here.
