Håndværk’s aesthetically pleasing storefront in Southampton stuns with natural design elements, expansive displays and a soothing color palette.
Håndværk elevates the East End’s shopping scene with its flagship debut.
One of Southampton’s newest boutiques, Håndværk, debuts its first physical locale. Spearheaded by style-savvy husband-wife duo Esteban Saba and Petra Brichnacova, Håndværk opens its first storefront just steps from where the couple first met. “Opening our first store in Southampton, where our personal story began, feels like a beautiful serendipity,” says Esteban. “It’s more than just a location; it’s a celebration of our past and a cornerstone for the future we aspire to build with our community.”
Nestled next to the bustling Sant Ambroeus, the brick-and-mortar was designed by creative director Petra Brichnacova and pays homage to the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship. Walk across beautiful Dinesen flooring as you enjoy the surrounding environment of soft minimalism and open-air shopping. “Every aspect of the store, from the materials selected to the overall ambiance, is a reflection of the high standards we uphold in our products,” Petra shares. “It’s a hub for like-minded brands and artisans who share our ethos of exceptional design and sustainability.” On the shelves, you’ll spy not only Håndværk’s ethically sourced clothing, but also inspirational Gestalten books, Audo Copenhagen furniture, FRAMA organic soaps and diffusers, and more.
Known best for its men’s and women’s staple pieces, Håndværk’s spring/summer 2024 collection will be on full display, in addition to other crowd favorites—ranging from the knit collection, which boasts unique eco-gala milk casein buttons derived from surplus milk protein carefully sewn onto the seasonless pieces of superfine merino wool sweaters and alpaca vests, and the Permanent collection featuring the Mattea pajama pants and Botan shell parka for women, and the Pique polo collection for men. As for what’s next? Keep an eye out for an exciting lineup of community events, pop-ups for local and international artists, and perhaps even some additional storefronts. “We are actively exploring additional locations, with NYC poised as a likely next step,” hints Esteban.
