Countless Americans have followed Katie Lee into the kitchen when they catch her cooking up a storm on Food Network, but now she's helping Hamptonites get fit.
In her latest chat with Hamptons, Lee fills us in on her workout routine and offers some tips to keeping healthy and staying fit year round.
You'll be hosting a VIP fitness class this weekend in Bridgehampton at obé Fitness. So, what should people expect when they workout with you? KATIE LEE: Our workout on Saturday will be challenging but fun. That's really what it's all about for me—I want to work my body to be strong and healthy, while having a good time. That's the only way I'll stick with it.
What about fitness intrigued you enough to become an investor in obé Fitness? KL: My schedule is always different and I travel quite a bit for work. I always found myself scrambling to get to the gym or make a class on time, or trying to sign up for a class only to find it to be full. With Obé, my workout is on my terms and the time I want, and I can do it anywhere in the world.
What's your favorite at-home exercise? KL: I take a power walk every morning with my dog, Gus, then I log on and do a class.
Best calorie burner? KL: I find that dancing really gets my heart rate up and then I follow it with a toning class.
You must have a favorite workout song then, right? KL: I'm obsessed with the new Kygo remix of Whitney Houston's "Higher Love."
Do you have a self-care routine? KL: This may not be your typical self-care answer, but I like to take time for mindless entertainment. I really enjoy reality TV, so my way to "turn off" my mind is to watch The Bachelor or Housewives.
Any apps you use during your workout? KL: Obé!
I imagine you can't be physically fit without a balanced diet. So after a workout, what do you eat? KL: I make a smoothie bowl almost everyday. I do a combo of frozen fruit, a scoop of plant-based protein powder, chia seeds and plant milk.
You must have one guilty pleasure food though... KL: More like a dozen guilty pleasure foods! My number one is salty french fries with a ton of ketchup.
Where can we find you getting fit? KL: On my Instagram. I mostly workout at home and I post my routine on my story a few times a week.
