Therapy Life & Style owner Kelly Kirkpatrick shares her take on the Hamptons community, summer programs and more.
Can you tell us a little bit about Therapy Life & Style’s history in the Hamptons?
Therapy Life & Style will celebrate its 17th year in business this May. We started our first year in a small location in a courtyard on Jobs Lane, and then another six years next to Le Chef. Ten years ago, we made the scary, big move to 38 Main St., and it was the best decision.
How has the company evolved with the different generations?
When we first opened in 2006, we catered to a younger audience, and over the years we’ve gradually made it a goal to be more inclusive to every generation. I strive to have something for everyone. I have countless customers who come in with three generations—mother, daughter, grandmother! Style has nothing to do with age, and everything to do with attitude.
Hampton Linx permanent jewelry is new for the season.
Are there any new programs or events that you’re excited about this summer?
We are super excited for this season! We have a lot of fun new things happening in the store! For starters, we will now be offering permanent jewelry—the hottest new trend happening in the accessory market. We will offer it by appointment in the store and will also be popping up at events throughout the summer as Hampton Linx permanent jewelry. In addition to that, we have partnered with Alex Lehr (formerly on Jobs Lane) for a second season offering his amazing Hamptons-casual style for both men and women.
I also spent over a month in Mexico and sourced some incredible new young designers that I’m so excited to debut this season. Expect beautiful resortwear that Therapy will have the exclusivity to in the U.S.
How has the Hamptons community supported and responded to Therapy Life & Style’s legacy?
I have been very fortunate over the years to have very loyal year-round and summer customers. They have supported us both on Jobs Lane and Main Street. I have literally watched customers go from teenagers to mothers coming in with their children! It’s wonderful to see my customers evolve and grow with us. I wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for the support of my repeat customers. I am very grateful!

What is your favorite part about life in the Hamptons?
My favorite part about life in the Hamptons is how eclectic it is! It’s like no other place in the world. Each town has its own beautiful appeal different from the next. I love being able to drive 15 minutes east or west and feel like I took a mini-vacation. The Hamptons are a very special place.
Anything else we can buzz for the summer?
I’m just super excited about our Hampton Linx permanent jewelry. We have already booked two bridal parties and a bat mitzvah; we will be popping up in Amagansett at the Hampton Flea and are looking into some other events. 38 Main St., Southampton, 631.259.2555, @therapylifenstyle
