Reduce, reuse, recycle. That’s the popular saying fashion brand LilyEve has taken to heart.
The vintage luxury upcycling brand is set to host a pop-up in East Hampton on Saturday, July 16, from 12 to 5 p.m. Guests are invited to peruse and buy from a curated selection of the company’s upcycled goods—from jackets and bucket hats, to lounge wear and bags—all while sipping on summer drinks, eating light bites and mingling with the founder.
To make things even sunnier, 10 percent of the pop-up proceeds will go to local cancer charity Fighting Chance, one of the largest, free cancer counseling centers in the country.
LilyEve was founded by Lily Clempson with the help of local veteran designer Michel Cantin. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Clempson began to design and produce face masks during the pandemic, donating proceeds to FoodBankNY.
As the demand for her masks grew quickly, Clempson brought Cantin on to produce them locally in East Hampton. With a 62-year age gap, 25-year-old Clempson melts her knack for talent with 88-year-old Cantin’s years of experience in the fashion world to grow the LilyEve brand exponentially.
Today, the duo has moved into the ever-growing upcycling industry, choosing to draw, source and produce its goods from vintage designer towels, scarves and the like.
The standout Palm Tree Jacket is made from a red, yellow and orange Hermès towel with a palm tree motif; and the Silk Drum jacket is made out of a blue, white and gold-printed Hermès scarf. The brand also offers a slew of colorful bucket hats made from classic Hermès towels and clutches.
The upcoming pop-up event gives locals and visitors alike the chance to shop from the different styles and take a few chic pieces home, all while helping a local charity.
The company’s collections are also available to shop in boutiques across the country, including The Webster and Fred Segal, as well as direct from the LilyEve website. Those who aren't able to attend the event can still get their hands on these unique, upcycled designs.
