Manolo Blahnik toasts the 30th anniversary of their iconic Mary Jane by releasing the shoe of the season.
Flirty at thirty? Absolutely! Manolo Blahnik is pulling out all the stops for the 30th-anniversary edition of their iconic Mary Jane, and trust me, heads will be turning.
This celebratory style is draped in soft suede or silk satin, complete with a glamorous pearl button on the strap—because why settle for basic when you can be brilliant? The pearl, known for its purity, honesty, and wisdom (or just for being undeniably chic), is the perfect nod to three decades of unrivaled style. After all, pearls are the traditional 30th-anniversary gift, so why not?
The OG Mary Jane strutted onto the scene in 1994, fueled by a stunning snapshot of Kate Moss taken by Corinne Day and Blahnik’s itch to create something sophisticated yet simple. “I had gone through a bit of a Baroque period in the early ’90s and wanted to counter that, so I went minimalist,” Blahnik reminisces. “It started with the idea of a standard Mary Jane, but then I made it sexy; pointed toe, high heel—and in black patent with a grosgrain trim.” And just like that, a legend was born. Thanks to Moss rocking them in British Vogue, shot by the iconic Juergen Teller, the Mary Jane became an instant ‘it’ shoe—still turning up on A-listers like Halle Berry, Emerald Fennell, and Laura Dern. This new edition will be served up in two classic colors: ivory and black. With Blahnik’s trademark commitment to flawless craftsmanship and quality, these beauties are produced in limited numbers, available online and only at the Manolo Blahnik boutiques in London, Paris, Hong Kong, and China, and of course, at the Manolo Blahnik Madison Avenue flagship store.
