With so many TV shows and films taking place in New York, occasional storylines will extend themselves to the classic towns and beachfront estates of the Hamptons. Here are eight shows and movies that were filmed in some of our favorite places of the East End.
Kate Hudson and Colin Egglesfield shoot Something Borrowed in Amagansett in 2010.
The 2011 romantic comedy starring Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin Egglesfield, and John Krasinski filmed at a private waterfront home on Flying Point Road in Water Mill and included footage of Main Street in East Hampton.
The hit HBO series shot on location in Greenport in 2013 at Dockside at Claudio’s and at a Front Street market.
The main character in this Showtime series spends his summer vacations in Montauk, where scenes were filmed in 2013.
The CW drama about the lives of the young Upper East Side elite has taken its stars out East many times, with scenes filmed on Meadow Lane and Coopers Neck Lane in Southampton in 2008.
The 2013 Oscar-nominated Woody Allen film starring Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin used Quogue as a setting, featuring the waterside restaurant Dockers as well as filming in a private beachside residence.
The 2003 movie starring Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves, and Amanda Peet was filmed in a grand oceanfront mansion on Meadow Lane in Southampton. The home sold in 2014 for $41 million.
The Netflix show about inmates at a women’s prison filmed in downtown Riverhead in 2014.
In addition to filming in the Hamptons for the TV show back in the early 2000s, the film adaptation Sex and the City 2 used Southampton as a backdrop in 2009.
