The NBA All-Star Game is one of the brightest highlights of the season. Whether it be the dazzling heights of the Slam Dunk Contest or the 24-point fourth quarter introduced in 2020, there’s always plenty to look forward to when the third weekend in February rolls around.
When it was announced that Cleveland would host the 2022 iteration of the games, there was a lot of excitement and anticipation in the Rock and Roll City, and to celebrate the fusion, one of music’s most storied brands is getting in on the action.

Junk Food Clothing nabbed a huge collaboration with MTV and the NBA, celebrating the league’s 75th anniversary and the upcoming All-Star Game with a cool nostalgic collection of t-shirts and crewnecks.
Featuring the Golden State Warriors, the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks, the Phoenix Suns and the most recent NBA Champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, the shirts are a perfect combination of classic and new wave.
The old MTV logo is ripped straight from the television sets of Ferris Bueller and Marty McFly, but the iconic “M” logo is filled with the colors of each specific team. The famous motto is altered, too, so your shirt proudly proclaims “I want my Bulls,” or “I want my Heat,” etc.
“The NBA and MTV have had a profound influence on culture throughout the years,” Jose Castro, Senior Vice President at ViacomCBS Consumer Products, says in a press release. “We are thrilled that the iconic MTV logo could be used as a canvas for this exciting apparel collaboration with Junk Food to celebrate the NBA’s 75th Anniversary.”
The crewnecks are all standard dark gray, while the team t-shirts come in colored backgrounds inspired by their namesake. The Lakers’ shirt is deep in purple, while the Warriors is a classic San Francisco baby blue.
Also available are two All-Star Game t-shirts, featuring burgundy and gold letters–emblematic of the host team, the Cleveland Cavaliers–in a rock and roll style font.
Junk Food Clothing is one of today’s top brands in fusion fashion. The company has also worked with the NFL and Nickelodeon on a collection, which featured Spongebob and Tommy Pickles outlined in team colors; as well as dozens of shirts that take inspiration from Star Wars, the Grateful Dead, and countless beer brands.
“As a retro-inspired music, sports and pop-culture apparel brand,” Hybrid Apparel Executive Vice President Shaun Rachau says, “Junk Food believes this NBA and MTV collection is a perfect opportunity during the NBA’s season-long 75th anniversary celebration to bring together two pop culture icons leading into NBA All-Star in Cleveland.”
If you can’t head to Cleveland to watch the festivities, this is a cool pickup to show off your team fandom and excellent taste in pop culture. Shop the looks at junkfoodclothing.com.
