Brisas redefines community in East Hampton, one padel at a time.
From the Meadow Club to the Maidstone, the Hamptons is home to some of the most exclusive membership establishments on the Eastern Seaboard. This summer, East Hampton welcomes Brisas, a refreshing application to the concept of community, honoring inclusivity and artistic tradition. Featuring three padel courts, 4,000 square feet of outdoor lounge space and a wellness area equipped with all the essentials, Brisas promises to reconnect its guests to authentic living through fostering genuine friendships and self-discovery. At Brisas, members experience a sanctuary where diversity and creativity thrive, redefining what it means to “belong.”
Brisas is more than a club; it’s an inviting enterprise designed for sports, relaxation, wellness and re-becoming. Inspired to create a hybrid-membership model that felt welcoming rather than transactional, Rohan Kamdar and Lucho Gazcon brought Brisas to life. This venture pays homage to the timeless charm and vibrant atmosphere of Las Brisas, a renowned destination in Acapulco, Mexico, where Enrique Corcuera invented the game of padel in 1969. Padel, a unique racket sport distinct from pickleball and tennis, has gained significant attention, attracting a diverse demographic of players of all ages and skill levels, from young enthusiasts to seasoned athletes, from social players to competitive professionals. Founders Kamdar and Gazcon, drawing inspiration from extensive travel, everyday objects, nature and art, crafted an environment where both members and the public could forgo uniformity in all-white attire and embrace a more colorful truth.
Heading the Brisas wellness initiative is Israeli-born Shani Rom, renowned for her ability to move people’s bodies and ignite their spirits. While teaching her signature movement class that blends elements of yoga and Pilates, Rom has curated a menu of recreational activities, including breathwork sessions, ceramics, candle-making, floral arranging, fairs and dinner parties. An Airstream will enhance the unpretentious charm of the Brisas atmosphere, offering signature beverages and healthy snacks designed to nurture both body and soul. Additionally, weekly pop-ups will celebrate artisanal craftsmanship, upholding a high standard of quality while embodying a bohemian spirit.
Breaking country club barriers, Brisas’ vibrant property includes three padel courts, an array of outdoor space and a state-of-the-art wellness area.
Hoping to revitalize an antiquated “country club” industry, Brisas breaks down the traditional barriers that divide rather than unite. Reverence for life and all its creations is an uplifting feeling that manifests through the law of attraction rather than force. The wonder of a rainbow lies in the blending of every color in the visual spectrum, and the appeal of Brisas is in its celebration of individuality and authenticity. As tennis has evolved, so too must its clubs, embracing the diversity of self-expression that reflects the magnificence of modern times, fostering a cohesive, supportive environment where all guests can thrive. 174 Daniels Hole Road, East Hampton, brisas.us
