This July, the James Beard Foundation will honor Emmy and James Beard Award-winning food personality Padma Lakshmi at its annual Chefs & Champagne outing in the Hamptons.
The event, hosted on the Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, is one of the summer's hottest culinary events which gathers the best in food and drinks.
“I am excited to be joining the ranks of previous guests of honor such as Julia Child and Martha Stewart to support the foundation’s mission to make America’s food culture more delicious, diverse, and sustainable for everyone,” said Lakshmi. “Bringing attention to JBF scholarship, women’s leadership, and other impact programs aligns with many of the causes that are close to my heart.”
Lakshmi, an internationally known food expert, model, actress, and bestselling author, joins Julia Child, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Carla Hall, Thomas Keller, Wolfgang Puck, and Martha Stewart, who have also been honored at the event.
Among the chefs paying homage to the food personality are Aquavit's Emma Bengtsson, Untitled at the Whitney's Suzanne Cupps, Rotisserie Georgette's Georgette Farkas, and Saxon + Parole's Nicole Gajadhar.
