Rag & Bone’s new East Hampton storefront
City-based Rag & Bone is stepping into the Hamptons this summer with its highly anticipated boutique opening.
Rag & Bone is breezing into the summer with the opening of its latest retail location in the heart of East Hampton, just in time for the brand’s 20th anniversary. Known for creating wearable collections that combine NYC edge with the refinement of the line’s English roots, Rag & Bone is a natural fit for the Hamptons fashion scene. The store’s opening was celebrated at Gurney’s Montauk Resort with many familiar faces in attendance, such as Tyler Cameron, Emily DiDonato and Chloe Fineman. Housed on Newtown Lane, the new store’s layout shows off every inch of the 3,000-square-foot open floor plan with the classic New York-cool design the brand is known for. “All of our stores have a similar approach—we embrace the space and the location as much as we can,” says founder and Chief Brand Officer Marcus Wainwright. “For this store, we just wanted something clean and bright, not too literal and obviously very Rag & Bone, which I think fits perfectly with the Hamptons.”

Upon entering the store, visitors are drawn to the hanging gallery-style displays along the walls showing off Rag & Bone’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories and more. What’s on the rack this season? Anything and everything necessary for building an East Coast summer uniform—crisp linens, lightweight denim and dresses perfect for a walk on the beach or lunch in town.

Modular pedestal sets and brass rails suspended along the ceiling’s wood beams evoke the brand’s industrial yet elegant sensibilities, while the locally sourced wood stumps and wall art ground the space in the stylings of the Hamptons’ artist communities. The back of the store is a shopper’s dream, from the denim bar lined with the classic American denim the brand is famous for to the lounge area where patrons rest and pick through their findings. Dotted throughout the store, digital displays rotate through the brand’s deep catalog of creative content. With no attention to detail spared, Rag & Bone’s Custom Fabrication Shop specially created the handcrafted walnut tables, live-edge wood shelving and a custom powder-coated cash wrap in-house for the new Hamptons retail fixture.
