We check in with local luminary and John Hardy Creative Director Reed Krakoff for his summer musts.
Celebrated for his singular style and tantamount taste, Reed Krakoff now adds his Midas touch to John Hardy (johnhardy.com) as the brand’s newly appointed creative director. As an iconic industry innovator, Krakoff leads the handcrafted jewelry brand into an exciting new era. The statement-making pieces are available locally at The Crow’s Nest boutique in Montauk, Marie Eiffel on Shelter Island, Ryland in Sag Harbor, Tenet in East Hampton, Todd Snyder in East Hampton and Warm in Amagansett. From beautiful abodes to brands, Krakoff is the king of reimagination. The longtime local first lovingly restored Lasata (the Further Lane former childhood home of Jackie Kennedy) with his wife, Delphine. Now, they have settled in Amagansett in a modernist marvel. We checked in with the style-setter for his seasonal selects.

What do you feel is most remarkable about the Hamptons in the summer, and why are you excited to be back?
I’ve been spending time in the Hamptons for nearly all my life, first as a kid and then with Delphine and our children. It never gets old. It changes my perspective each time I arrive. Every summer is different based on what’s happening in our lives, but the physical beauty and light of the Hamptons will always be magic for us.
What are you most looking forward to this summer in the Hamptons?
I’ve recently fallen back in love with surfcasting. As a kid, my father taught us, and now that we live on the water, I’ve become a bit obsessed with it again. This is our first summer in our new home, so having friends and family over will be extra special. I have four children, and having them all in one place together doesn’t happen that often!

Favorite spot for a night out in the Hamptons?
That’s easy. A night at home! Don’t get me wrong, we are social people, but nothing beats a night at home.
