For supermodel Kate Bock, launching a splashy new swim line is a natural fit—and just the vacay-spo we need as we head into the holiday season.

Launching just in time for the high holiday season, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl Kate Bock has teamed up with swim brand Bond-eye Australia to launch a capsule collection. The collection features five styles and two exclusive colorways made from Bond-eye’s original late-’80s tubular crinkle fabric. The campaign shot in the Hamptons features earthy tones (think fresh almond and rich cedar) and flattering cuts. “The earth-tone colors are soft and clean; the lines are classic and timeless; and I added a little twist to the design! My new collection is perfect to wear on or off the beach and paired with high-waisted denim shorts for a day out,” says Bock. We caught up with the model and Pompette chief brand officer for how her own season ahead is shaping up.
What made you decide to launch a swim line? I’ve spent a lot of time in swimsuits, so launching a swim collaboration line felt like a natural fit for me. I think I have a unique perspective on what makes a great swimsuit. I was able to put my signature touch on a brand that I already love and am so thrilled with how the pieces turned out—the fit is amazing and the colors we chose are fashion-forward yet timeless.
What are some of the things you look for in a swimsuit? I always look for suits that are more classic styles designed with clean lines and quality fabric. I want my swimwear looks to be timeless with a little bit of a twist. I also gravitate toward more neutral tones; these tend to be more universally flattering. Bond-eye is the perfect partner for me with its color scheme, luxe texture and flattering lines. I discovered the brand on set a few years ago and have been a fan ever since.
Bock loves Brazil for its beaches.
What are the exercises that you think make the biggest impact when prepping for a swim shoot? I try to eat mindfully and work out consistently throughout the year, so prepping for a swim shoot doesn’t necessarily mean a huge change in routine. Plus, many times we hardly get any notice to prep. My daily workouts vary but can be anything from walking my puppy and yoga to a sculpt cardio class. It’s all about doing what you can and staying consistent.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops SPF 50.
Any other swimsuit beauty secrets to share as to how you always look so amazing? I love the Clarins Tonic body treatment oil. I put it on after the shower and it leaves my skin looking hydrated and tight. The Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask is also a lifesaver—I always have a tube with me. It’s super hydrating and really soothes my skin. I use it every night. For hair, I use the Shu Uemura Essence Absolue nourishing protective oil. It protects your hair from the sun and also smells amazing. A win-win.
What sort of self-tanner or sunscreen do you use? I always wear sunscreen, and one of my favorites for my face is Barbara Sturm SPF 50. It is so light and doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing sunscreen. A few drops every day protects me whether I’m at the beach or running around the city. You’ll never regret protecting yourself from sun damage and wrinkles. I also love Supergoop! Unseen sunscreen for my body. It goes on smooth and clear in an almost gel-like texture that feels so nice and hydrating while never leaving white streaks.
What beach tote do you love? I love the Celine Squared Cabas bag. It fits everything you need and more, is understated yet chic and is easy to travel with.
What swim accessories do you love at the moment? I’ve been really into hats lately and wore my Lack of Color bucket hat all summer. An added bonus is that it protects your face from the sun. My staple pair of sunglasses are Saint Laurent; they are something that will never go out of style and are the perfect addition to a beach look. I also love a refreshing and light drink at the beach, and Pompette hard sparkling water is the best for that—it’s clean and comes in a resealable bottle so it’s easy to take with you while on the go.
What are some of your favorite beaches in the world for vacations? One of my favorite beaches I’ve ever visited is in the region of Trancoso, Brazil. The beaches are stunning, and I stayed in a luxury tree fort, which was such a unique and amazing experience. Bali will also be a very special beach to me—we shot the 2020 SI Swimsuit cover there. Aside from that shoot, which I’ll never forget, the beach itself is pristine and I love the jungle vibe.
Any fun vacation plans for 2022? I’m getting married in 2022, so we get to plan a honeymoon! I think a safari will be in store, and I can’t wait!
