Here’s what’s cooking in the T Bar kitchen this summer as it toasts its fifth anniversary on the East End with a killer cocktail program and a renovated patio.
T Bar’s contemporary cocktail program elevates every happy hour and meal.
Just over 28 years ago, owner Tony Fortuna put his hospitality skills to the test when launching T Bar. Eventually joined by managing partner Derek Axelrod, the dynamic duo has expanded to a two-story Upper East Side building and sought-after Southampton space. Stirring up consistent culinary genius in both the Big Apple and the East End, T Bar is constantly upping its gourmet game to better serve the Southampton community.
T Bar’s recently introduced contemporary cocktail program for this season is all the buzz out East. A recipe for success, two world-renowned bartenders—Keith Valenti and Eleftherios Gkoumas—bring their tippler talent to the restaurant for a summer of sensational sips. Whether indulging during happy hour or dinner, we suggest the spicy watermelon margarita, spicy cucumber margarita and Vudu Child—all made with freshly pressed juice and crafted ice from its cube program.
In addition to curated cocktails and the addition of a few summer dishes— including burrata and watermelon salad, black linguini and spicy lobster—its recently renovated patio makes for the ultimate alfresco dining experience. With new furniture, plants, fixtures and a private dining area for up to 20 people, its natural yet rustic look aligns with T Bar’s aesthetic.
As Labor Day approaches, T Bar does not wish to close its kitchen just yet. With potential plans to stay open year-round, Fortuna and Axelrod hope to maintain the T Bar name during every season out East, turning it into more than a seasonal success. The T Bar experience is living proof that the best things are left classic. 268 Elm St., Southampton, tbar.sh
