We’re always impressed by what The Shoe Surgeon has to offer and they’ve recently released a legendary, jaw-dropping shoe.
The special limited edition shoes, The Legacy AJ1’s, deserve some recognition for the innovative design being displayed. The design, which was highly influenced by Virgil Abloh’s creation of the Damier and Monogram LV AF1, takes a twist on these former beauties.
The distinctive, renowned Louis Vuitton pattern is employed within each part of the shoe, hand cut and taken from original Louis Vuitton bags. The primary design’s detail can be noticed with a raw edge underlay.
The Legacy AJ1’s come in high and low top form with contrasting patterns for each shoe design.
The high top presents the classic Louis Vuitton pattern with patches of a checkered pattern throughout the shoe and on the swoosh. Comparably, the low top comes in a checkered pattern with patches of the Louis Vuitton symbols throughout the shoe and on the swoosh. 'AIR' is engraved into the sides of the shoes.
These specialty shoes can be thrown on as an everyday shoe or set aside for special occasions. The shoes can be purchased now for $10,000.
When purchased, a percentage of the profit of the shoes sold will go to The Virgil Abloh Post- Modern Scholarship Fund.
If this is your first time hearing about the Shoe Surgeon, it was created and founded by Dominic Ciambrone, a major voice in the sneaker and fashion community. He was one of the firsts to perform shoe-customization for sneakers and cleverly deconstructs and rebuilds shoes with high-end materials. Some fan favorites that he has customized are Jordan 1’s, Chuck Taylors, Dunks and Yeezys.
The Shoe Surgeon is more than a shoe store as it is now accompanied by an entire basketball court, luxury fully-stocked bar, a spacious design studio with 30+ specialty sewing machines, a large fabric wall that includes thousands of ideas that will be re-created into limited edition sneakers and onsite artists that indulge in custom requests.
