As we stare down the neck of yet another impending lockdown, a comfortable home has never been more important—and that goes for the stars as much as it goes for the rest of us.
The Weeknd, Pamela Anderson, Gene Simmons and more all made real estate upgrades in 2021. Today, let’s take a look back at some of the most expensive and impressive celebrity home sales of the year.

Following the sale of his $25 million home in Hidden Hills, Ca., the “Blinding Lights” superstar nabbed a nine-bedroom, 33,000-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills. The home comes with an indoor pool, a movie theater and a music studio. Branden and Rayni Williams of Williams & Williams at The Beverly Hills Estates represented the seller, while Angel Salvador of The Beverly Hills Estates represented The Weekend.
Talk about big moves. The Baywatch icon and real-life Barbie let go of her long-time Malibu Beach House in March. After nearly 20 happy years, she sold the 5,500-square-foot home (not including a one-bedroom guest house) for $14.9 million. That’s a pretty penny higher than the $1.8 million she paid for the property in 2000. It’s reported that Anderson returned to her native home of Canada. Tomer Fridman of The Fridamn Group at Compass represented Anderson in the sale.
When the family counts two hit producers, the home must be fit for a king and queen. This husband-and-wife duo heads Akil Productions and counts Girlfriends, The Game, Black Lightning and more among its TV wins. That network TV cash helped them snag a gorgeous Italian Renaissance Revival home in Grand Hancock Park. Built in 1930, it boasts four bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a guest house, and a living room with floor-to-ceiling arched windows. Fredrik Eklund of Eklund|Gomes at Douglas Elliman Represented the seller, and the Akils were represented by Stephen Sweeney at Oak Brook Realty.
Just a couple weeks after selling a nearly two-acre property for $16 million in early October, the Kiss rocker closed the deal on this ultra-modern manse in Beverly Hills. Featuring more than 8,000-square-feet of living space, the 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom home features a pool with LED lighting, a home theater, a built-in art installation and more. Tomer Fridman of Compass represented the seller, and Simmons was represented by Compass’ Lisa Young.
Looking for something a little more down to Earth? So was the buyer of the Punky Brewtser actress' 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom home in Hidden Hills, Ca. This was the home where Frye raised her kids, and she once told People that the spot was her "dream." Tomer Fridman of Compass and Branden and Rayni Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates represented Frye on the sale.
