From Bridgehampton to Greenport, NYU Langone’s expansion brings quality care to the community.
Whether you live on the East End year round or spend your summers in the Hamptons, you’ve probably experienced the lengthy commute to the city for anything and everything that’s not available in Long Island.
NYU Langone Health is expanding its footprint on Long Island, offering a plethora of services, from pediatrics to neurology, on the East End. We sat down with Andrew Rubin, senior vice president for clinical affairs and ambulatory care at NYU Langone Health, to find out what this expansion means for the community.

Why did NYU Langone expand to the East End?
As part of our commitment to enhance access to high-quality care, we’re continually building our network with new sites and services where our patients live and work, and we have numerous projects underway across Long Island. Our plans to expand our network began before the pandemic, which was very timely as we’ve been able to serve the recent influx of residents who are now living on the East End full-time. Our services on the East End help patients remain close to home for the majority of their care, minimizing their need to travel.
What new services are available on the East End?
Since we have opened our multispecialty practices in Riverhead and Bridgehampton, we’ve introduced nationally ranked programs, including neurology and orthopedic care. We’ve also added pediatrics, urogynecology, gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, podiatry, rheumatology and endocrinology, and we’re building comprehensive orthopedic and women’s health programs in Suffolk County. Next year we’re opening a second Hamptons location on Sunset Avenue in Westhampton, and we’re exploring East Hampton for an additional location.

How does this expansion benefit patients?
Our multispecialty model brings a wide range of services together under one roof so patients can have all of their health needs efficiently addressed. Many patients schedule multiple appointments back-to-back, which is convenient for everyone but especially for those with busy schedules. This model also enhances collaboration among the medical team and allows for an immediate evaluation from on-site specialists when a potentially serious medical condition is identified during a doctor visit.
What services does each location offer?
As our largest practice on the East End, NYU Langone Medical Associates-Riverhead is a hub site that offers a wide range of specialized services and internal medicine, including pediatric care.
The Riverhead medical team specializes in cancer, endocrinology, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, colorectal surgery, care for ear, nose, throat, and mouth conditions, podiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, sports medicine and urology, including urogynecology and prostate biopsy. In our pediatric practice, a lactation consultant is available to provide breastfeeding instruction.
The Riverhead cancer team is part of Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone, an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, offering access to the latest cancer treatments, genetic testing, clinical trials, and NYU Langone’s network of specialists to care for the whole patient during treatment, recovery, and beyond.
This hub also has on-site lab services and imaging, with plans to add more imaging capabilities next year.
NYU Langone Medical Associates—Riverhead offers imaging services, including ultrasound, X-ray and a cystoscopy suite.
Primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, cardiology and gastroenterology doctors' appointments are also available at NYU Langone Primary Care–Mattituck and NYU Langone Medical Associates–Bridgehampton. Cardiology services, including cardiac diagnostic testing, are provided nearby in Riverhead and Greenport at NYU Langone East End Cardiology.
At NYU Langone Medical Associates–Greenport, internal medicine, family medicine, and endocrinology care are available. We recently welcomed two new practices, NYU Langone Advanced Orthopedics–Long Island and NYU Langone South Shore Neurologic Associates, with offices in Riverhead and neighboring communities.
Where else can your patients find NYU Langone care?
We have more than 300 locations across the New York area and, for anyone who travels between New York and Florida, we also have two locations in Palm Beach County.
Our locations in West Palm Beach and Delray Beach offer multispecialty services including cardiology, endocrinology, primary care, gynecology, nephrology, weight management and physical therapy. Also, orthopedic surgery, sports medicine and non-emergency, same-day appointments are available at our West Palm Beach location.
NYU Langone Medical Associates–West Palm Beach on North Clematis Street offers same-day appointments.
We also offer a Virtual Urgent Care service for minor medical conditions with same-day appointments until midnight, 365 days a year. Virtual Urgent Care is available to anyone 5 years of age and up who is physically located in New York, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania.
We have one connected health record across all our practices and hospitals. And with the NYU Langone Health app, patients can check test results, schedule appointments, video chat with their doctors and more.
