For supermodel and entrepreneur Valentina Ferrer (@valentinaferrer), wellness is the key to a well-balanced and healthy life. The Argentine beauty took this passion to create KAPOWDER (@kapowdersuperfood)—an Australian-based supplement and wellness brand that offers sustainably sourced solutions to beauty and wellness—with co- founder Sara Davey.

From the moment Ferrer arrives on set, it’s evident that she makes this a priority in her life. The leggy beauty arrives with her own meals and her beloved Argentinian, antioxidant-rich mate drink, which provides her with all the benefits of coffee. It’s clear that she practices what she preaches—and embodies the lifestyle of her brand even when she is on the go.

“I start every morning with KAPOWDER Superfood protein in three pancakes. It gives me the energy I need to get things done, and I always do some exercise— whether it’s just walking or Pilates, I need to get some movement every day,” she notes.
She continues, “Part of what prompted me to create KAPOWDER was the desire to teach others to have a healthy lifestyle and be able to enjoy it. To me, beauty and health come from the inside out, and you need to nourish what’s going inside your body first.”

After being diagnosed with celiac disease and having a hard time finding foods she could eat and enjoy, this need only increased.
“My business partner in Australia is vegan. So we came up with the idea to create a product that is accessible, easy to take and all-natural so those with allergies like us can use it easily. It’s designed to create a healthy lifestyle for everyone,” she says.

The product line ranges by benefit, with everything from skin and beauty to gut health, energy, immunity and more. Bestsellers include the Enlighten electrolyte powder with hyaluronic acid—one of Ferrer’s essentials for traveling— Strength protein powder, the Saviour biotin liquid dropper and the Detoxifier liquid dropper for digestion.
“I always have the Enlighten with me—it has ingestible hyaluronic acid with electrolytes and blue spirulina. I drink this with coconut water or just water, which helps me hydrate my skin while I’m on the go,” she notes.
She continues, “For me, I know we created a good product when I can try it plain with my spoon, without water or anything else, and I can enjoy it.”

As sustainability is a core principle of the brand, Ferrer remains confident that the products they are putting out embody all of the best ingredients and sourcing.
“We manufacture in Australia, and where we are, it’s all operated by solar panels and natural energy. Everything is sustainable—even the drops are packaged in glass bottles,” she shares proudly. “It’s so important for us to teach these practices
to our consumers so it becomes something you will appreciate in years as your skin looks good and tight, but you also feel good from the inside out. I’m a mom, so I always think about the future— my kids, grandkids, etc. You want to be thinking about the long-term effects.”

Serving as the ultimate manifestation of this notion, it’s easy to trust what Ferrer says when it comes to wellness and beauty.
Recently, her modeling career has taken off in a new way, as she walked for the first time in Paris Fashion Week for Vetements. Ferrer notes that this is a dream she thought was past being realistic for her.
“When you get into the modeling industry, people always say if you don’t walk in a show
by the time you’re 15 or 16— particularly in the competitive European shows like Paris—you never will. I thought I was too old to walk in a Paris runway show, so this was really exciting for me. It shows that the industry is changing for the better,” she says. “My body was always genetically skinny, but healthy skinny. Years ago, this wouldn’t have been the look for many brands’ runways. But now it is, which is amazing.”

One of the best parts of this experience was bringing her son along with her for the journey. Like any powerful woman leading a thriving business, organization and time management are essential. However, Ferrer prioritizes motherhood above all, relishing every moment with her 2-year- old son, Rio, whom she shares with her partner, J Balvin.
“Motherhood has changed everything for me,” she shares fondly. “Now, with my son, Rio, I am so much more organized.

I prioritize what I need to do in between what he needs. He’s my best friend. I love to play with him; we have breakfast together every morning. We take walks around New York City. And now he travels with me, which is my favorite thing because I don’t have to leave him when I travel for work. He comes with me everywhere.”
While ambition still drives her continued career evolution, Ferrer is committed to soaking up precious time with family along the way.

“Family time is so important to us. Sometimes, I find myself going around New York City all day with Rio. We go to museums or zoos, and I love watching him interact. By the end of the day, I’m tired, but I’m so happy. I feel like that is the key to my balance,” she says. “And most importantly, I live in the present.”
“I never want to be the mom that in a few years says, ‘Oh, I didn’t get to enjoy my kid because I was working.’ If I don’t grow enough in my career because of that, I am fine. I prefer to go to sleep knowing
I did my best and enjoyed my family time.”

While Ferrer notes that she finds grounding in simple acts like walking or reading, the most effective method for her is putting her phone away and living in the present moment.
“You can think you’re being present, but if your kid is there and you’re on the phone, you’re not,” she says. “I’ve learned that the most important thing in life—that translates to happiness, well-being, and physical and mental health—is enjoying the present moment. I think many people need to learn how to do that, embrace it and enjoy it.”
